Sheridan High School Jazz Band concert @ Sue Henry Auditorium at Sheridan High School

The Sheridan High School Jazz Band will perform their Festival Concert on Tuesday. The band will be playing songs which they will be performing at the Kinser Jazz Festival in Casper and the Northwest Jazz Festival in Powell later this year. The performance will commence at 7 p.m. at the Sue Henry Auditorium of SHS. The concert is free and open to the public. Performances will include pieces such as “Solar and Nardis” by Miles Davis and “I’m Beginning to See the Light” by Duke Ellington, and will be directed by Diane Knutson. Lead trombone player Grandy Craft has been selected to play in the All-State Jazz Band and will be featured on a solo arrangement at the concert. For more information call the school at 672-2495. Celtic Sage concert @ Sheridan Senior Center
Mar 12 @ 5:30 pm – 6:00 pm

The Sheridan Senior Center will host “Celtic Sage” on Wednesday. The band will perform a free concert of seasonal music from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Lunch may be ordered for a charge but is not necessary to attend the performance. Chicken enchiladas will be served. The concert and lunch are open to all. “March Gladness” Spring Salad Luncheon @ First United Methodist Church

The United Methodist Women will host the annual Spring Salad Luncheon on Thursday. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church “March Gladness” will serve an all-you-can eat lunch for $7 a person. The proceeds will benefit the UMW mission projects. The church is located at 215 W. Works St.

Empty Bowl Event @ Sheridan County YMCA

The Volunteers of America Northern Rockies will host their annual Empty Bowl Event Thursday. The fundraising event serves attendees a simple dinner emulating what one might eat at a soup kitchen served in a handcrafted bowl and accompanied by music from Canary Joe, a silent auction, face painting for kids and more. Attendees keep their dinner bowls as reminders about homelessness. The event will run from 5-8 p.m. at the Sheridan County YMCA. Tickets are available at the door for $25 per family, $10 for adults, $5 for kids and children under five are free. All proceeds benefit the Sheridan Community Homeless Shelter. Stroke Awareness fundraiser @ Tongue River Middle School cafeteria

A Stroke Awareness fundraiser on behalf of Troy Winder of the Sunset Cafe will be held at Tongue River Middle School on Friday. From 4:30-8:30 p.m. in the cafeteria a soup and chili dinner will be served, a silent auction will be held and basket raffles will be offered. The cost of dinner is a suggested donation of $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 5 and younger. For more information call 751-4526. TRMS is located at 1251 Dayton St., Ranchester.

The Josties concert @ Tongue River Valley Community Center

The Josties, a family from Southern Alberta, Canada, will perform three free concerts March 14, 15 and 16. Parents Dale and Lisa Jost along with their 11 children perform a mix of religious, acoustic country, folk and light contemporary music. The free concert is sponsored by the Pastors United in Christ but donations will be accepted. All members of the public are welcome to attend. The show March 14 commences at 6 p.m. at the Tongue River Valley Community Center. March 15 the show will be at the same location at 2 p.m. March 16 the Josties will perform at The Historic Sheridan Inn at 6 p.m. For more information call Sherm Weberg at 655-3036. The TRVCC is located at 1100 Highway 14, Dayton. The inn is located at 856 Broadway Street.

Colcannon concert @ WYO Theater

The WYO Theater will again host perennial performers Colcannon. Colcannon performs Irish music with a touch of chamber and music hall music. The concert will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 for prime seating, $24 for adults and $15 for students. 4-H Carnival @ Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall

The Sheridan County 4-H club will host their annual carnival fundraiser on March 15. From 3-7 p.m. at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall a chili supper, cake walk, dunk tank, duck darts, treasure hunt, and more food and activities will be offered. There is no cost to attend and all optional activities carry individual costs which will benefit the 4-H club. For more information contact the Sheridan County Extension Office at 674-2980. Big Horn Mountain Polka Club dance @ Elks Lodge

The Big Horn Mountain Polka Club will host a dance on Sunday. From 1-5 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, music will be provided by Rapid Creek. The dance is open to the public and attendees are encouraged to wear green in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. The Elks Lodge is located at 45 W. Brundage St.
