“Behind the Scenes Saturday” and “Tidbit Saturday” @ Sheridan County Museum

The Sheridan County Museum will present “Behind the Scenes Saturday” and “Tidbit Saturday” this weekend.

This free event is open to all with no reservations required.

The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for a behind-the-scenes view at the museum’s operations.

The public is invited to come and see what goes on at the museum when the galleries are closed.

Attendees will see how employees take down old exhibits, care for the items entrusted to the museum and prepare new items and galleries for new exhibits.

There will also be Tidbit activities for children and parents.

Tidbit, the SCM Mouse, can be found in each exhibit at the museum and likes to share fun tales and treasures of Sheridan County’s history and children ages 5 to 10 are invited to attend with their parent or guardian for a variety of activities.

The museum is located at 850 Sibley Circle, off of the Fifth Street exit of Interstate 90.

SHERIDAN— Registration is now open for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) class to be held on Thursday and Friday, July 17 and 18, from 8:15 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Wyoming Simulation Center, 245 Broadway St. The two-day ASIST class is designed to supplement a caregiver’s abilities to assist an at risk person. SHERIDAN — The Montana Shakespeare in the Park company will make their annual visit to Sheridan on Friday. On July 18 from 6-7:30 p.m. the players will present “As You Like It” at Kendrick Park. TIPS Training @ Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Police Department, the Prevention Management Organization of Wyoming and the Wyoming Department of Health will present a free TIPS Training on July 22. From 8-10:30 a.m. and 5-7:30 p.m. beverage service training for concessions will be offered at the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce. “Training for Intervention Procedures” is an internationally recognized alcohol awareness education program that includes subjects such as retail programs, college students and adult consumers. Learn about forest service policies at ‘Wyoming Wednesday’ @ Wyoming Welcome Center

SHERIDAN — The Wyoming Office of Tourism will host the next event in a series of events called “Wyoming Wednesdays.” Informative and interpretive programs about Sheridan are being offered at 10 a.m. most Wednesdays throughout July at the Wyoming Welcome Center. At this week’s event, Cheri Jones of the United States Forest Service will talk about forest service policies and will focus on the Big Horn National Forest. The events are free and open to everyone. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic lunches and stay and enjoy the visitor’s center before or after each program. The center is located off of Interstate 90 on the Fifth Street exit. “Baby with the Bathwater” @ Carriage House Theatre

SHERIDAN — A new local theater group, the Off-Kilter Fellowship, will present six editions of “Baby With the Bathwater,” July 31- August 2 and August 7-9 nightly at 7:30 p.m. The dark comedy about how difficult it is to be a parent and how scary it is to be a baby is directed by Jacob Claytor and features Carol Nowakowski, Jenn Smith, Donna Gifford, Savannah Hennigh and Garrett Key. The show is for mature audiences only due to strong language and sexual content. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, seniors and military and will be sold at the door.
