Forest service photos reception @ The Inner Circle at Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library

Photographs taken in the Cloud Peak Wilderness area will be on display in The Inner Circle at Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library during the month of March. Local representatives of the US Forest Service will be displaying the photographs as a part of their celebration of the 50th anniversary of the signing of The Wilderness Act. A reception will be held on Monday from 5-7 p.m. to mark the opening. All members of the community are invited to attend this free event. Jentel Presents @ Sagebrush Community Art Center

Jentel Artist Residency Program will host their March “Jentel Presents” on Tuesday. “Jentel Presents” is a free community outreach event open to everyone which features visual presentations and readings by artist in residency. The event will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Sagebrush Community Art Center and refreshments will be served. This month’s presenters include playwright Barbara Lindsay, mixed media artist Laini Nemett, metal smith Lori Swartz and printmaker Junko Yamamoto. EPA/HUD Renovation, Repair and Painting Initial Training @ Holiday Inn

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services with the Low-Income Weatherization Program and the Montana State University Extension Housing Program, is sponsoring an event to be held in Sheridan on Thursday.

“EPA/HUD Renovation, Repair and Painting Initial Training” will be held at the Holiday Inn from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The eight hour course developed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in collaboration with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development will train attendees how to work safely in housing with lead-based paint and comply with EPA’s RRP rule, and HUD’s Lead Safe Home rule.

Attendees will be given a Certified Renovators photo ID which is valid for five years.

The course hold a value of $200 but is being offered in Sheridan for free thanks to the presenting sponsors.

Pre-registration is required and space is limited.

Sheridan High School Jazz Band concert @ Sue Henry Auditorium at Sheridan High School

The Sheridan High School Jazz Band will perform their Festival Concert on Tuesday. The band will be playing songs which they will be performing at the Kinser Jazz Festival in Casper and the Northwest Jazz Festival in Powell later this year. The performance will commence at 7 p.m. at the Sue Henry Auditorium of SHS. The concert is free and open to the public. Performances will include pieces such as “Solar and Nardis” by Miles Davis and “I’m Beginning to See the Light” by Duke Ellington, and will be directed by Diane Knutson. Lead trombone player Grandy Craft has been selected to play in the All-State Jazz Band and will be featured on a solo arrangement at the concert. For more information call the school at 672-2495. Celtic Sage concert @ Sheridan Senior Center

The Sheridan Senior Center will host “Celtic Sage” on Wednesday. The band will perform a free concert of seasonal music from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Lunch may be ordered for a charge but is not necessary to attend the performance. Chicken enchiladas will be served. The concert and lunch are open to all. Fundraising: why and how @ Downtown Sheridan Association Community Room

The Sheridan Public Arts Committee and the Sheridan Artists’ Guild have partnered to offer a presentation and workshop on fundraising. Jack Miller of the Miller Group will lead “Fundraising: why and how” tomorrow at the Downtown Sheridan Association Community Room. Commencing at 1:30 p.m., Miller will give an overview of fundraising in America and discuss topics including how to organize for success, techniques for fundraising, steps for creating a multiple year campaign and keeping track of pledges and mailing lists. Miller is a nationally recognized strategist and lecturer with 45 years of experience as a management consultant in philanthropy. The workshop is free but donations will be accepted to help off-set the cost of the guest speaker. For more information or to register call Beth Holsinger at 752-1603. Tom Randazzo artist’s reception @ Mezzanine of Sheridan Fulmer Public library

A show of original paintings in a variety of media created by local artist Tom Randazzo will be presented on the mezzanine of Sheridan Fulmer Public library. “Balance and texture” will present a wide variety of mixed media including wax and motor oil. An artist’s reception will be held tomorrow from 5-7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend this free event. The library is located at 335 W. Alger St.

“Seven Years Plus” artist’s reception @ SAGE Exhibit Gallery @ Sheridan College Main Street

Throughout the month of March the SAGE Exhibit Gallery will feature life-long Sheridan area resident and colored pencil artist Dean States. “Seven Years Plus” will exhibit his drawings at the gallery located inside Sherian College Main Street. An artist’s reception and gallery talk will be held Thursday from 5:30-7 p.m. The public is welcome to this free event and refreshments will be served. The gallery is located at 171 N. Main St. More of States’ work can be viewed at the Dean States Studio located at 637 W. Loucks St.

Jenny Wuerker artist’s reception @ Sagebrush Community Art Center’s Invitational Gallery

The Sagebrush Community Art Center’s Invitational Gallery will host Buffalo artist Jenny Wuerker’s exhibition “Painting the Expanse” today through April 12. The exhibit is an artistic view of the iconic American landscape of the west on large canvases. An artist’s reception and talk will be held Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the gallery. The Josties concert @ Tongue River Valley Community Center

The Josties, a family from Southern Alberta, Canada, will perform three free concerts March 14, 15 and 16. Parents Dale and Lisa Jost along with their 11 children perform a mix of religious, acoustic country, folk and light contemporary music. The free concert is sponsored by the Pastors United in Christ but donations will be accepted. All members of the public are welcome to attend. The show March 14 commences at 6 p.m. at the Tongue River Valley Community Center. March 15 the show will be at the same location at 2 p.m. March 16 the Josties will perform at The Historic Sheridan Inn at 6 p.m. For more information call Sherm Weberg at 655-3036.
