SHERIDAN— The Sheridan Fulmer Library is featuring two art exhibits in the month of August. In the Inner Circle, local artist Daniel Granger will have his first public exhibit. Granger experiments in several mediums, including ink, fountain pen, pencil drawings, acrylic paint and wax. An artist reception for Granger will be held in the Inner Circle from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday. The library is located at 335 W. Alger St.
SHERIDAN— The next Sheridan Farmers Market will be held Thursday on Grinnell Plaza. From 5-7 p.m. vendors will sell produce, arts and crafts and more as live music, children’s activities, demonstrations and nonprofit booths are hosted. This week’s activities include a watermelon eating contest, homemade pie contest, rooster crowing contest, a market basket raffle and a beer and wine garden. Attendance is free for customers and vendor booths are available to rent. SHERIDAN— The Wyoming Watercolor Society will have an awards ceremony and artists’ reception Thursday. They are hosting the 29th annual National Watercolor Exhibition again this year at the Sagebrush Community Art Center. The reception starts at 5 p.m., and refreshments are provided. SHERIDAN — In celebration of their fourth anniversary, the Kula Space will host “Flavor of the Week,” a weekly free class on Thursdays this summer at 5:30 p.m. Some of the free classes will request optional donations to support a local cause and suggestions of local causes to support are welcome. This week’s class will be Barre Body with Michele. Sign-up is required and it is limited to 12. Donations will benefit The Food Group. SHERIDAN— Help the Sheridan Jaycees raise funds to prevent malaria in Africa. On Thursday, August 7, there will be family fun at Kendrick Park starting at 6 p.m. There will be live entertainment from the Boot Hill band, dance lessons, silent auction, food vendors, and adult beverages. This is a fundraiser for Nothing but Nets, an international organization that supplies bed nets to African families. The event is free, but donations are appreciated. SHERIDAN— The Senior Center is having a garage sale Friday, August 8 and Saturday, August 9. They are currently accepting donations for it. SHERIDAN — For the next event in a series of outings celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act of 1964 and the 30th anniversary of the Wyoming Wilderness Act of 1984, the Wyoming Wilderness Association will host a workshop and campout in the Cloud Peak Wilderness. On Friday, hikers will gather and camp at the Paint Rock Ranger Station and then hike out of the Paint Rock and Medicine Lodge Lakes Saturday. A Leave-No-Trace Awareness will be led by Lead Wilderness Ranger Donna Wilson. Bring a picnic lunch and plan to spend time discussing the anniversary of wilderness areas. SHERIDAN— The NSI Academy presents their fall fest Friday August 8 and Saturday August 9. On Friday there will be a Pig Spit BBQ and live music by The Craft Brothers starting at 6 p.m. On Saturday at 9 a.m., there will be a 5k Color Run that you can register online for. There will also be a lunch and a duck race. Both days will feature musical performances by the student body and inflatables for the whole family. This event is free and open to the public, but donations are welcome to establish a performing arts program at NSI Academy. The NSI Academy is located at 5 Lane Ln. For more information call 674-6878.
