Kids’ art camp @ Sagebrush Community Art Center

SHERIDAN­— The Sagebrush Community Art Center is hosting a kids summer art camp for ages 8-12 from July 21-24 from 1-5 p.m. each day. There will be an acrylic painting class, jewelry making, ceramic painting, watercolor painting, and a picture frame making class. Registration is due by July 16, and each class costs $35. TIPS Training @ Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Police Department, the Prevention Management Organization of Wyoming and the Wyoming Department of Health will present a free TIPS Training on July 22. From 8-10:30 a.m. and 5-7:30 p.m. beverage service training for concessions will be offered at the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce. “Training for Intervention Procedures” is an internationally recognized alcohol awareness education program that includes subjects such as retail programs, college students and adult consumers. ‘Tidbit Tuesday’ set for next week @ Sheridan County Museum

SHERIDAN — The next offering of the “Tidbit Tuesday” educational program at the Sheridan County Museum will be held next week. The program gives children and their families an opportunity to explore history together from 10 a.m. to noon every other Tuesday throughout the summer. The events are free and open to all but space is limited to 24 children so pre-registration is requested. Subsequent activities will be on Aug. 5 and Aug. 19. Concert in the park features local artists @ Kendrick Park

SHERIDAN — The next Concert in the Park will be held Tuesday featuring the Sheridan Concert Band. From 7:30-9 p.m. in the Kendrick Park Bandshell, band members from all around Sheridan will perform a concert. The concert is free and open to all members of the community. Wyoming Wednesdays @ Wyoming Welcome Center

SHERIDAN — The Wyoming Office of Tourism will host the next event in a series of events called “Wyoming Wednesdays.” Informative and interpretive programs about Sheridan are being offered at 10 a.m. most Wednesdays throughout July at the Wyoming Welcome Center. At this week’s event, John Woodward, director of the Sheridan County Museum, will share information about the historic mining towns north of Sheridan. The events are free and open to everyone. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic lunches and stay and enjoy the Visitor’s Center before or after each program. The center is located off of Interstate 90 on the Fifth Street exit. Parkfit presents yoga by Kula Space @ Marshall Park

SHERIDAN — EMIT Technologies, the Recreation District and the Wellness Council have partnered to present ParkFit 2014. Every Wednesday throughout the summer from 12:10-12:50 p.m. a free fitness class will be offered at one of the local parks. The next session will be yoga by Kula Space Wednesday at Marshall Park. A full schedule of ParkFit events can be seen at www.wellnesscouncilsc.org. All members of the community are invited to these free events.
