The Bushnell Center will present “Warriors Don’t Cry” at the WYO Theater on Wednesday. Part of the Children’s Education and Family series at the theater, the play tells the story of the Little Rock Nine who risked their lives in 1957 to end segregation at Central High School. The play received the American Library Association award, 1995 Nonfiction Book of the Year award and the Robert F. Kennedy Book award. The performance will commence at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $14 for adults, $8 for students and $5 for children ages 12 and younger. The WYO Theater will host “The Monster Who Ate My Peas” on Feb. 18.
Based on the multi-award winning book written by Danny Schnitzlein and illustrated by Matthew Faulkner, this musical play is part of the Children’s Educational and Family series.
Commencing at 6:30 p.m., the performance will tell the story of a young boy who doesn’t want to eat his peas so he makes a deal with a monster to give the creature anything he wants if he’ll eat the boy’s peas.
