SHERIDAN — A benefit for Roberta “Bert” Burtis will be held July 7 at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Post 7, 137 N. Brooks St.

Burtis was recently diagnosed with cancer.

She is a Sheridan native who drove school buses for Sheridan County School District 2 for more than 30 years.

Burtis is an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the American Legion Honor Guard.

She was also a member of the 7th Cavalry Drum and Bugle Corps Auxiliary.

At the benefit there will be raffles, a silent auction, food, beverages and live music by the Kickin’ Mustangs Band.

If you have items you’d like to donate for the auctions or drawings, bring them to the American Legion Post or call 674-7082 to have them picked up.
