SHERIDAN — The Bureau of Land Management Buffalo Field Office will hold a public meeting in Sheridan on Monday.
This meeting is an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the draft resource management plan and supporting environmental impact statement.
The area covered by the plan includes BLM lands in Campbell, Johnson and Sheridan counties.
The revised plan will replace the 1985 Buffalo RMP. The draft includes a series of management actions within four management alternatives. These actions include energy development, wildlife habitat management, livestock grazing, air quality, special management areas including areas of critical environmental concern and travel management.
The meeting will be at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library. There will be an open house from 3:30-7 p.m. A formal presentation will be given at 4 p.m. and repeated at 6 p.m. BLM resource specialists will also be available to visit with the public.
Comment forms will be available at the meeting. The BLM must receive written comments by Sept. 26 for them to be considered.
The draft RMP/EIS is available at www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/programs/Planning/rmps/buffalo.html.
