SHERIDAN — The Big Horn girls golf team sat first in their conference and second in regionals as they started off conference Friday. The girls team placed second on the first day of conference, shooting a 313.
Lusk won Friday with a 313 and Wright came in third with a 322.
Kaleigh Anderson is sitting in second place for Big Horn after shooting her personal best of 88 on Friday. Her teammate Jamie Kitterman is in seventh place with a 103. Hanneah Puckett helped the team out, shooting a 122.
“It will be a close one with Wright tomorrow,” Big Horn golf coach Mila Stender said. “It was a tremendous day for the girls.”
Jack Roberts and Nick McAdoo of Big Horn tied for ninth, both shooting an 88.
Andy Quinn helped Big Horn out with a 92 and his teammate Brody Bard shot a 118. Roberts, Bard and Quinn all shot under their season average at conference Friday in Evanston.
The Big Horn boys are sitting in fourth place out of nine with a team 382.
Tongue River boys are sitting in seventh with a 434.
“We would like to move up a place today,” Tongue River golf coach Pete Kilbride said. “The weather was great and the course is in fantastic shape.”
Casey Caywood is sitting 14th in the region and seventh in conference for Tongue River after a personal of 87. His teammate Brock Donston shot a 108 and is sitting 27th in the region and 17th in conference.
Ian Ostler added to the Tongue River team with a 113, while Rydge Collins shot a 126 and Riley Jones shot a 151.
Kylee Knobloch is in 12th in the region and eighth in the women’s side of the conference for Tongue River after shooting a 110 on Friday.
Knobloch’s teammate Grace Carr is in 19th in the region and 14th in the conference, shooting a 123.
“Everyone played pretty well, but feel they can improve today.” Kilbride said.
Tongue River and Big Horn will finish up conference today on the course at Evanston.
