SHERIDAN — Sheridan-based BeneTerra was selected as one of six finalists for the Rocky
Mountain Region Water Management Company of the Year Award and ultimately named the 2012 Water Management Company of the Year at the Rocky Mountain Oil and Gas Awards ceremony held earlier this month in Denver.
The award recognizes organizations that provide water management services to the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry. Recipients are recognized for the ability to provide innovative solutions and consultancy services in the areas of storage, transportation, treatment and disposal.
Considerations are also made for environmental due diligence.
Founded in 2002 to focus on the U.S. coal bed methane market, BeneTerra specializes in land-based wastewater dispersal systems. With offices in Sheridan, North Dakota and Australia the company has treated and dispersed more than 7 billion gallons of produced coal bed methane water through irrigation, according to a media release.
In addition to water management, BeneTerra provides environmental services including soils investigation and suitability assessment, land rehabilitation and environmental monitoring.
