SHERIDAN — The Powder River Basin Resource Council and Sheridan County Extension will host a free workshop all about seed saving on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Sheridan County Extension Office located at the Watt Agriculture Center, 3401 Coffeen Ave.
The workshop led by Mae Smith, Northwest Area Rangeland Resources Educator with University of Wyoming Extension, will allow participants to explore the basics of seed saving, including growing, pollinating, harvesting, cleaning, storing and preparing for planting. The workshop will also include hands-on activities so participants can experience the seed saving process firsthand.
Workshop attendees will also have the chance to view and check out seeds from the Sheridan County Seed Library. The seed library is a collection of open-pollinated and heirloom vegetable, herb, and flower seeds that community members can borrow from for free.
The seed saving workshop is free and open to the public.
For more information, contact Kentz Willis, Sheridan County Extension at 674-2980 or Megan Taylor at Powder River Basin Resource Council at 683-7761.
