Bighorn National Forest managers and members of the Forest Plan Steering Committee will meet Thursday for the annual forest plan monitoring and evaluation field trip. Participants will meet at Arrowhead Lodge at 10 a.m. before proceeding to different locations in the Tongue Ranger District. Discussion topics include wetland mitigation for the Burgess South highway project, travel management, trails, recreation sites and forest plan monitoring. The field trip will conclude around 3:30 pm at the last stop on the tour, the Hunt Mountain Gravel Pit. The field trip is open to the public. Drinking water will be provided, but participants should bring their own field gear. The group will take a lunch break at Bear Lodge at 12:30 pm. For more information, call Susie Douglas at 674-2600.
