SHERIDAN — “Building Brains!” is a fun, hands-on activity to learn about the science of early childhood that take place Wednesday from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Sheridan Senior Center.
The Brain Architecture Game is a tabletop game experience that builds understanding of the powerful role of experiences on early brain development.
Topics for the event will include: what promotes brain development, what derails it and with what consequence for society.
The concepts set the stage for understanding the role of a community in helping kids achieve lifelong health.
Attendees will receive a light supper and STARS credits.

SHERIDAN — The Chamber’s Business Reception and Expansion Committee will host a community-focused round table discussion over coffee on Wednesday at 8 a.m. at the Dayton Mercantile.
The discussion is for those who are interested in current issues and happenings in Dayton, Ranchester and Sheridan County.
The event is free and open to the public.

SHERIDAN — The Sagebrush Community Art Center will host an opening reception for “Growlers: On Beyond the Purity of Law” on Sept. 29 form 5-7 p.m.
Curators for this invitational show include Elaine Henry, Rod Dugal, Jason Lanka and Brittney Denham.
The event will include artistic interpretations of growlers (a jug-like vessel for holding and transporting beer) crafted by glass and ceramic artists both local and from across the U.S. The event is free and open to the public.

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Fiber Arts Guild will hold its annual show at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library Oct. 1-31 on the mezzanine.
The show features a variety of fiber art mediums including quilting, felting, embroidery, cross stitch and knitting from local fiber artists.
A public artist reception will be held Oct. 4 from 5-7 p.m.

SHERIDAN — Jentel Foundation will present current artists in residence at the Sagebrush Community Art Center on Oct. 4 from 5:30-7 p.m.
The artists will give presentations about their art. The event is free and open to the public.
Presenters for October include acrylic painter Sue Danielson, of Seattle Washington; creative non-fiction writer Caitlyn Luce Christensen, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; photographer David Janesko, of Houston, Texas; animated videographer Judith Robertson, of Miami Beach, Florida; nonfiction essayist Peter Barnes, of Point Reyes Station, California; and mixed media painter Robin Green, of Seattle, Washington.
