Story Community Fund races set for June 25 @ Story Community

SHERIDAN — The Story Community Fund will host a community run, walk and bike event celebrating the 150-year anniversary of Fort Phil Kearny.

The event will take place June 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with check-in at 8 a.m.

Events will include a 1-mile fun walk, 5K run/walk, 8K run and a half marathon. Bike events will start at 11 a.m. with a 5-, 7-, 10- and 18-mile ride.

The entry fee is $45 and includes lunch at the Wagon Box and a race souvenir. Proceeds will go to the Story Community Fund’s Story Trails System project.

Monarch Miners Picnic fundraiser set for June 25 @ Big Horn Mountain Eagles

SHERIDAN — Organizers of the Monarch /Underground Coal Miners picnic will host a fundraiser to help with expenses of having the group’s annual picnic. The fundraiser will take place June 25 at the Big Horn Mountain Eagles from 5-7 p.m.

The fundraising event will include a potluck, dance, raffle and optional box social.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a covered dish or a decorated box for the box social.

Event to raise money to fight cancer @ Sheridan County Sportsman Association Complex

SHERIDAN — H&R Block will sponsor an Amateur Trapshooting Association registered fundraiser Cancer Shootout on Saturday and Sunday at the Sheridan County Sportsman Association Complex.

Trap Shooters from around the region are encouraged to compete in the event that begins at 9 a.m. each day, and members of the public are welcome to attend and watch.

In addition to the contest, there will be items for raffle to raise money to fight cancer.

Last year, the event raised $1,800 for the Welch Cancer Center.

‘Paint for a Cause’ set for Tuesday @ The Paint Post

SHERIDAN — The Paint Post will host “Paint for a Cause” to benefit Joey’s Foundation, whose programs uses fly-fishing to mentor children.

The cost to participate will be $40 per person and the event will take place on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.

Antelope Butte Pint Night set for Tuesday @ Black Tooth Brewing Company

SHERIDAN — A “Pint Night” on Tuesday from 6-10 p.m. at the Black Tooth Brewing Company will benefit efforts to reopen the Antelope Butte Mountain Recreation Area.

For each pint sold, $1 will be donated to the project. The event will include live music by The Instagators, food from Pie in the Sky, merchandise for sale and a raffle.

‘Bikers Against Bruises’ poker run set for July 2 @ Advocacy and Resource Center

SHERIDAN — The “Bikers Against Bruises” fundraiser motorcycle run for the Advocacy and Resource Center will take place July 2 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will raise funds and awareness to help victims of violent crimes in Sheridan County.

The poker run will cost $10 per hand. The event will start at the Advocacy and Resource Center parking lot at 11:30 a.m. and the ride will begin at noon.

Stops will include The A and R Center, The Ranch at Ucross, Cowboy Saloon, Wagon Box, Big Horn Smokehouse and The Cozy Corner at Coffeen Liquors for food, drinks, giveaways and to announce the winner of the poker run.

In case of inclement weather, the schedule will stay the same, but the event will be moved to July 3.
