SHERIDAN— Santosha Yoga will be offering a free week of yoga and meditation Sept. 2-8.

Sludge Trudge @ Sheridan County Fairgrounds

SHERIDAN— The Sheridan County Fairgrounds will be the host for “Sludge Trudge”, a 5k muddy obstacle run on Saturday. Competitive waves start at 9 a.m. with non-competitive waves from 10a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The kids race is at 1:30 p.m. with a harvest festival dinner at 7 p.m. If you plan to stay all day, bring lawn chairs, clean clothes, shoes and a towel. Outdoor showers will be provided. There will be food vendors, live music, a beer garden, and muddy exhibits. You can register at www.itsyourrace.com/event.aspx?id=1862.

Balance and Movement class @ Sheridan Senior Center

SHERIDAN — The next balance and movement with gentle yoga class with Cindy Baker has been scheduled for Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. This class is designed to increase strength, balance, flexibility and to help people be more conscious of how they breathe. Red Grade Grind

RED GRADE— The 37th Annual Red Grade Grind will be held on Oct. 4. Runners, walkers, and cyclists are welcome to join the three mile journey starting at the end of the pavement on Highway 335 and going to the top of Red Grade. It is about a 2,000 foot elevation gain. The event starts at 9 a.m. and will be held regardless of weather. There is no registration fee and interested participants can contact Curt Schwamb at 672-5416.

Kids’ Halloween Costume classes @ Sagebrush Community Art Center

SHERIDAN—The Sagebrush Community Art Center is having kids’ Halloween costume classes Saturday, Oct. 4 and Saturday, Oct. 11.

On Oct. 4, the kids will be making masks and on Oct. 11 they will be designing their own costumes. There is a $6 registration for each class.

Bike-tober Fest @ Sheridan County Fairgrounds

SHERIDAN— Bike-tober Fest is on Saturday, Oct. 11 and features mountain bike races and trail runs. Race registration includes chip timing, t-shirt, food and beer tickets, and admission to the after party with live music, kids’ races, and a raffle. All proceeds benefit the Sheridan Community Land Trust’s local recreation projects. To register, go to biketoberfest.itsyourrace.com or at the Sports Stop or Foot of the Bighorns. Healthy Back Class @ Sheridan YMCA

Big Horn High School choir concert @ Big Horn High School auditorium

BIG HORN — The Big Horn High School choir will present a fall concert on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the BHHS auditorium.

Choir selections will include “A Tribute To the Armed Forces,” arranged by Lloyd Larson, “Ashokan Farewell,” arranged by Carole Stephens, “It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Sing, Sing, Sing,” arranged by Tom Anderson, “Home,” arranged by Greg Gilpin, and “One Day More,” arranged by Mark Brymer.

As an added feature, a sneak peak of the BHHS Drama Club production will be included in the concert. The cast will present one scene of the play “Just A Little Crazy” by Renee Rebman. The full production of the play is set for 7 p.m. on Nov. 13-14 in the BHHS auditorium.

SMH employee, volunteer bazaar @ Sheridan Memorial Hosptial

SHERIDAN — Sheridan Memorial Hospital employees and volunteers will feature homemade items at the annual Christmas craft bazaar Thursday.

The event will run from 4:30-7 p.m. in the conference rooms on the lower level of the hospital.

The public is invited to shop, and drawings will be held at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. You must be present to win.

‘Uncapped’ painting class @ Sagebrush Community Art Center

SHERIDAN — The Sagebrush Community Art Center will host two “Uncapped” events in November and December.

On Thursday and Dec. 4, individuals of all ages are invited to create their very own painting following instructor Shanna Gardiner. Thursday’s session will focus on fall aspens, while the December session will focus on an old barn.

The sessions will be held from 6-8 p.m. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

The cost to participate is $35 per person and includes all supplies.

BIG HORN — The students of Big Horn High School will present “Just a Little Crazy,” their fall play, on Thursday and Friday.

At 7 p.m. daily the students will perform the tale of a girl and her parents who are in a big tizzy because they just moved into a turn of the century house, they are trying to remodel and the husband’s wacky sister comes to live with them. Misunderstandings, mixed feelings and hilarity ensue.

The play stars Kendall Meich, Trinity St. John, Joely Mueller, Karsyn Ulivarri, Colter Stanley and Makayla Morris and is directed by Monty and Carol Webb.

Tickets for adults are $2, students are $1 and BHHS students and children under 10 are free.

The performance will be held at the Big Horn Schools’ auditorium, located in the high school at 333 Highway 335, Big Horn.

Dimitra Dugal will direct the dramatic play by Neil Simon in which a well-paid executive of a high-end Manhattan firm gets the ax. While things fall apart around the executive, he does the only thing he can — he has a nervous breakdown and it’s the best thing that ever happened to him.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students, seniors and active military. Tickets are available at the WYO Theater box office or by calling 672-9084. Tickets may also be purchased one hour before each of the performances.

Performances are set for Friday through Sunday and Nov. 21-23. Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays.
