SHERIDAN— Jentel Artist Residency Program is pleased to present this month’s residents. “Jentel Presents” will take place Tuesday, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Sagebrush Community Art Center. This month’s presenters include an encaustic artist, a performance artist, a narrative fiction writer, a painter, a photographer and a fiction writer. The art center is located on the corner of Fifth and Broadway, and this event is free and open to the public.
SHERIDAN— The Sheridan Fulmer Library is featuring two art exhibits in the month of August. In the Inner Circle, local artist Daniel Granger will have his first public exhibit. Granger experiments in several mediums, including ink, fountain pen, pencil drawings, acrylic paint and wax. An artist reception for Granger will be held in the Inner Circle from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday. The library is located at 335 W. Alger St.
SHERIDAN— The Wyoming Watercolor Society will have an awards ceremony and artists’ reception Thursday. They are hosting the 29th annual National Watercolor Exhibition again this year at the Sagebrush Community Art Center. The reception starts at 5 p.m., and refreshments are provided. SHERIDAN— The SAGE Exhibit Gallery proudly hosts an August art exhibition by members Edre Maier and Sally Labore titled, “This and That.” The show runs August 4-31, with an Artists’ Reception on August 14, 5:30-7 p.m. The public is welcome, and refreshments will be served. The SAGE Exhibit Gallery is located in what is now the Sheridan Chamber of Commerce on 171 Main St. For more information call 674-1970.
BILLINGS— The Big Sky Dowser will meet at its 37th annual convention from Aug. 23-24 at the Moose Lodge in Billings, Mont.
Dowsing is a type of divination employed in attempts to locate ground water, buried metals or ores, gemstones, oil and many other objects and materials without the use of scientific apparatus.
Come to the convention and learn about dowsing and see it demonstrated and learn the technique. The special presenter will be Big Sky Dowser Charter Member Vern Bandy who will demonstrate dowsing rods he personally designed.

SHERIDAN— The Cloud Peak chapter of the Backcountry Horsemen will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Dwight French. A steak fry and potluck will be served. SHERIDAN— Akcita Win, a community-minded women’s club in Sheridan, is kicking off a new season and would like anyone interested in being a member to join them.
They will be gathering at the Holiday Inn Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. for dinner.
