Providing “wow” customer service class for 50 and older @ Sheridan College Main Street

Sheridan College’s Center for Workforce and Community Education and the American Association of Community Colleges are presenting a class for people age 50 and over.
Providing “wow” customer service class will be June 10 from 8-11 a.m. at Sheridan College Main Street, 171 N. Main St.
The class is free. Pre-registration is required.

ASIST @ Wyoming Simulation Center

SHERIDAN— Registration is now open for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) class to be held on Thursday and Friday, July 17 and 18, from 8:15 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Wyoming Simulation Center, 245 Broadway St. The two-day ASIST class is designed to supplement a caregiver’s abilities to assist an at risk person. This class is free, however, space is limited so please contact Sydney Rowe at 620-9995 or email srowe@pmowyo.org.

Museum Day

SHERIDAN— The annual Museum Day is on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 909 W. Ramshorn St., Dubois. Museum Day is sponsored by the Dubois Museum and the Dubois Museum Association and features children’s games, historic cabin tours, a quick draw and silent auction, live entertainment, and crafts and demonstrations.

TIPS Training @ Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Police Department, the Prevention Management Organization of Wyoming and the Wyoming Department of Health will present a free TIPS Training on July 22. From 8-10:30 a.m. and 5-7:30 p.m. beverage service training for concessions will be offered at the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce. “Training for Intervention Procedures” is an internationally recognized alcohol awareness education program that includes subjects such as retail programs, college students and adult consumers. SHERIDAN— Habitat for Humanity presents “On the Foundation”, an evening of one-act plays, music, dessert, wine and beer 7 p.m. this Thursday at 1774 Poplar Trail. Tickets are $40, available at Sheridan Stationery, and all proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity.

Spur Ranch Fest

SHERIDAN— Join the Wyoming Wilderness Association for the Spur Ranch Fest Sunday for biking, live music, beer, and more. The event will run from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. at 86 Peno Rd. and is a $10 entry free for adults, and children under 10 get in free. All proceeds will benefit the Wyoming Wilderness Association and Red Grade Trail Project. For more information call 672-8459.

Learn about forest service policies at ‘Wyoming Wednesday’ @ Wyoming Welcome Center

SHERIDAN — The Wyoming Office of Tourism will host the next event in a series of events called “Wyoming Wednesdays.” Informative and interpretive programs about Sheridan are being offered at 10 a.m. most Wednesdays throughout July at the Wyoming Welcome Center. At this week’s event, Cheri Jones of the United States Forest Service will talk about forest service policies and will focus on the Big Horn National Forest. The events are free and open to everyone. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic lunches and stay and enjoy the visitor’s center before or after each program. The center is located off of Interstate 90 on the Fifth Street exit. Never Flinch Summer Slam @ Sheridan YMCA

SHERIDAN— The Never Flinch annual Summer Slam will be on Saturday, August 2 at 8 a.m. at the Sheridan YMCA. The annual Summer Slam is a 3-on-3, co-ed grass volleyball tournament that will help raise funds for the Weston Johnson Memorial Scholarship.
