Parent Partnership meeting @ Sheridan High School library

The Parent Partnership will meet next Monday at Sheridan High School. On March 10 at 6 p.m. topics will include teacher appreciation in May, expanding the adoption of technology, the Graduation Task Force Executive Summary and an overview of “where we’ve been, where we are and where we are going,” at SHS. Trail End Guilds meeting @ Trail End State Historic Site

The Trail End Guilds will meet Tuesday.

The meeting will commence at 7 p.m. at the Trail End State Historic Site.

TEG sponsors at least one major event each year, the Holiday Open House during the first weekend of December.

Membership dues start at $5 a year and meetings are typically held monthly on the second Tuesday.

Guests are welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting.

The Trail End State Historic Site is located at 400 Clarendon Ave.

Big Sky Dowser’s Convention @ Moose Lodge

BILLINGS— The Big Sky Dowser will meet at its 37th annual convention from Aug. 23-24 at the Moose Lodge in Billings, Mont.

Dowsing is a type of divination employed in attempts to locate ground water, buried metals or ores, gemstones, oil and many other objects and materials without the use of scientific apparatus.

Come to the convention and learn about dowsing and see it demonstrated and learn the technique. The special presenter will be Big Sky Dowser Charter Member Vern Bandy who will demonstrate dowsing rods he personally designed.

Backcountry Horsemen Meeting

Wyoming Archaeological Society meeting @ Holiday Inn

SHERIDAN— The Sheridan-Johnson County chapter of the Wyoming Archaeological Society will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Sheridan Holiday Inn, in the Le Gourmet room. Dinner will be ordered from the menu, however it is not necessary to order dinner to attend the free program. Following dinner, Wyoming State Archaeologist Greg Pierce will address the society regarding his new position as state archaeologist, and will discuss some of his latest fieldwork. Pierce succeeds Dr. Mark Miller as Wyoming State Archaeologist. Miller retired this spring after 30 years as state archaeologist. Reservations are not necessary to attend the free program. Sheridan County Historical Society @ Holy Name Parish

SHERIDAN—The Sheridan County Historical Society will hold their annual meeting Thursday at the Holy Name Parish Center at 260 E. Loucks St. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. with a short business meeting followed by a program presented by Warren Mischke. The event is free and open to the public. Mischke will have a presentation focusing on the history of elk in the Bighorn Mountains. Mischke is a retired Wyoming Game and Fish professional with 36 years of experience. His career began at the fish hatchery in Tensleep before moving throughout the state with postings in Star Valley, Rock River, and Sundance. He transferred to Sheridan as an Information Specialist.
