SHERIDAN— The Wyoming Department of Education will hold a public comment hearing in Sheridan Tuesday, Sept. 9. As required by statue, the WDE is seeking public comment on proposed changes and additions to the content standards in areas such as English, language arts and mathematics. There have also been additions for new standards in the content areas of social studies, physical education, and career and vocational education. The public hearing will be in room 164, Griffith Memorial Building at the Sheridan College, 3059 Coffeen Ave. from 6-8 p.m.
SHERIDAN— A public square rosary crusade is gathering on Saturday at noon on the corner of Main and Burkitt. This is meant to bring people together to pray for America as a nation. SHERIDAN—Election day is Nov. 4 and there will be another candidate forum next Tuesday and Wednesday. This is an opportunity for candidates to share their views with the public. Candidates for local positions will speak on Tuesday and state and federal candidates will speak on Wednesday. Both forums are in the Whitney Presentation Hall at the Sheridan College, 3059 Coffeen Ave. at 7 p.m.
DAYTON—Meet and greet Dayton’s local candidates for Mayor and Town Council on Thursday. Ask questions so that you can make an informed vote on Nov. 4. SHERIDAN — Field representatives for Wyoming’s congressional delegation will host office hours Wednesday at the Sheridan County YMCA.
The office hours provide area residents an opportunity to discuss issues, views, questions and concerns with the field representatives. The comments and concerns will be relayed to Sens. Mike Enzi and John Barrasso and Rep. Cynthia Lummis.
The office hours will be held from 11 a.m. to noon.

SHERIDAN — Let’Er Buck Car Wash, along with more than 2,200 other car wash locations across the nations will provide free car washes to veterans and current military service personnel, under a Grace For Vets program on Tuesday.
Washes will be given rain or shine at 624 E. Brundage Lane from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The free washes are given to honor and recognize those that have and are serving in the armed forces.
Grace For Vets was founded by Mike Mountz, former owner of Cloister Wash & Lube in Pennsylvania in 2004.
Mountz vowed to find a way to honor veterans. Several years after opening his first car wash, he started the Grace For Vets Free Wash Program. With the help of car washes across the country who participate, more and more military servicemen and women are recognized each year through this program.

SHERIDAN — “Celebrating our Heritage…Pursuing our Future” is the theme for the 95th annual meeting of the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation. The meeting will be Thursday through Saturday at the Holiday Inn in Sheridan.
Policy discussion is the main purpose of the meeting and guides the work of the organization. According to Ken Hamilton, WyFB Executive Vice President, the resolutions range from support for CDL driver’s license changes to groundwater control areas; and from trespass laws to Big Horn and Domestic Sheep issues.
The featured speaker from the American Farm Bureau Federation is John Anderson, deputy chief economist for AFBF. Anderson will speak Friday at 2:15 p.m. about the importance of trade to agriculture and he will provide a cattle market outlook.
A screening of the film “Farmland” will be shown at 9:45 a.m. on Friday.
Young Farmer and Rancher events will also showcase some of the many opportunities available for our younger leaders in the agricultural community of Farm Bureau.
Sheridan College will host the YF&R collegiate discussion meet at 5 p.m. Thursday. Students from Sheridan College, Eastern Wyoming College, Northwest College and the University of Wyoming will compete.
Elections, awards, and a “Harvest for All” food drive round out the meeting events.

SHERIDAN — A free retirement strategy presentation will be held Thursday at the Powder Horn Clubhouse.
The event, “Plan Your Retirement on Your Own Terms,” will include cocktails and conversation about retirement preparation and strategies to maximize Social Security benefits.
The program will begin at 4:30 p.m. with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The retirement presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m.

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce luncheon set for Wednesday, March 11, will feature a recap of the 63rd legislative session that is wrapping up in Cheyenne this week.
The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Best Western Sheridan Center.
Local legislators will share issues and accomplishments that arose during the legislative session that could affect local businesses.
The luncheon is open to the public. The cost for the buffet lunch is $15.

SHERIDAN — Wyoming’s Sage Grouse Implementation Team mapping subcommittee will be meeting in Buffalo Tuesday, April 28, to provide opportunity for the public to comment on proposed revisions to sage-grouse core area boundaries.
The meeting is one of several held around the state based on Wyoming’s eight sage-grouse Local Working Group areas.
The meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Buffalo fire hall to review proposed revisions for the Bighorn Basin and Northeast Local Working Group areas.
In addition to these meetings of the Governor’s Sage-Grouse Implementation Team mapping subcommittee, a meeting will be held in Casper at 6 p.m. on May 5 at the Game and Fish office to deliberate proposals from Tuesday’s meeting.
The governor’s Sage Grouse Implementation Team was formed by Gov. Matt Mead to address issues that come up with the implementation of the Sage Grouse Executive Order.
