Murder Twice Baked @ Carriage House Theater

The Fort Mackenzie High School drama department will present “Murder Twice Baked” on Thursday and Friday. The musical whodunit by Bruce Scigliano and George Krawczyk will be performed at the Carriage House Theater. Tickets will be sold at the door at a cost of $7 for adults and $5 for non-FMHS students. Stroke Awareness fundraiser @ Tongue River Middle School cafeteria

A Stroke Awareness fundraiser on behalf of Troy Winder of the Sunset Cafe will be held at Tongue River Middle School on Friday. From 4:30-8:30 p.m. in the cafeteria a soup and chili dinner will be served, a silent auction will be held and basket raffles will be offered. Live from The Met: Massenet’s ‘Werther’ @ WYO Theater

The WYO Theater will present “Live from The Met: Massenet’s ‘Werther’” on Saturday at 11 a.m. The performance is part of the series “The Metropolitan Opera: Live in High-Definition” which transmits opera performances to movie theaters and other venues around the world as part of The Metropolitan Opera’s efforts to reinvigorate opera and reach out to a broader public. The program allows audiences to experience the production at the same time as the audience in New York. “Werther” stars two of opera’s biggest artists, Jonas Kaufmann and Elina Garanca, appearing for the first time together at the Met. It is directed and designed by the team behind “Carmen,” Richard Eyre and Rob Howell. Tickets are $18 for adults and $9 for students. 4-H Carnival @ Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall

The Sheridan County 4-H club will host their annual carnival fundraiser on March 15. From 3-7 p.m. at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall a chili supper, cake walk, dunk tank, duck darts, treasure hunt, and more food and activities will be offered. There is no cost to attend and all optional activities carry individual costs which will benefit the 4-H club. For more information contact the Sheridan County Extension Office at 674-2980. First Light Children’s Center will host a community open house on Thursday.

Celebrating their second anniversary, the public is invited to help them “March into Year 3” from 5:30-7 p.m.

Birthday cake will be served as well as samples of the healthy lunches the children at the center receive from Volunteers of America’s Catering for a Cause.

Activities will also include tours of the facility, a staff meet-and-greet and the opportunity to learn more about the Highscope Curriculum taught at the school.

Seventh biennial Big Horn Elementary All-Student Art Show reception @ The Brinton Museum

The Seventh biennial Big Horn Elementary All-Student Art Show at The Brinton Museum will open Thursday.

A reception will be held by the BHE Home and School Association on Thursday from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The show will run through March 30 with no admission charged.

“Behind the Scenes Saturday” and “Tidbit Saturday” @ Sheridan County Museum

The Sheridan County Museum will present “Behind the Scenes Saturday” and “Tidbit Saturday” this weekend.

This free event is open to all with no reservations required.

The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for a behind-the-scenes view at the museum’s operations.

The public is invited to come and see what goes on at the museum when the galleries are closed.

Attendees will see how employees take down old exhibits, care for the items entrusted to the museum and prepare new items and galleries for new exhibits.

There will also be Tidbit activities for children and parents.

Tidbit, the SCM Mouse, can be found in each exhibit at the museum and likes to share fun tales and treasures of Sheridan County’s history and children ages 5 to 10 are invited to attend with their parent or guardian for a variety of activities.

The museum is located at 850 Sibley Circle, off of the Fifth Street exit of Interstate 90.

The Dog and Cat Shelter will host a “Spring-FUN-Raiser” event March 29th. From 5-8 p.m. at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall, food and fun for the entire family will be offered. A taco bar catered by Qdoba will be served as well as homemade cookies, coffee, soda and a cash bar. A silent auction, live auction and bucket raffle will be offered. Children’s games will be played with a kid’s only bucket raffle for prizes. Other activities will include live music, a “Dog House” to which you can consign friends, chair massages, face painting and more. Live auction items include a NASCAR Package, a fly fishing trip for two, a Minnesota Vikings package, a one week stay in two bedroom 2 bathroom condo downtown Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, a stocked wine fridge and more. Bottoms Up Bash! @ Historic Sheridan Inn

A colon cancer awareness event will be held March 29 at the Historic Sheridan Inn. “Bottoms Up Bash!” will commence at 7 p.m. and will feature country rock band Narrow Gauge from 8 p.m. to midnight. Attendees must be 21 or older and are invited to “wear blue and dance until they’re blue.” Admission is $10 and will include hors d’oeuvres and give-aways. A cash bar will be available.
