The WYO Theater and Sheridan Civic Theater Guild will present “Forever Plaid,” a play by Stuart Ross. Performances will be held at the WYO March 20-23 and 27-30. Thursday-Saturday nights performances commence at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays will be presented at 2 p.m. Comical musical “Forever Plaid” stars Ryan Koltiska, Philip Garber, AJ Longhurst and Michael Gonda as a young men’s singing group in the 50’s who are killed on the way to their first big performance and return to fulfill their dreams. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, students and active military. Tickets may be purchased at the box office located inside the theater at 42 N. Spring-FUN-Raiser @ Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall

The Dog and Cat Shelter will host a “Spring-FUN-Raiser” event March 29th. From 5-8 p.m. at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall, food and fun for the entire family will be offered. A taco bar catered by Qdoba will be served as well as homemade cookies, coffee, soda and a cash bar. A silent auction, live auction and bucket raffle will be offered. Children’s games will be played with a kid’s only bucket raffle for prizes. Other activities will include live music, a “Dog House” to which you can consign friends, chair massages, face painting and more. Live auction items include a NASCAR Package, a fly fishing trip for two, a Minnesota Vikings package, a one week stay in two bedroom 2 bathroom condo downtown Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, a stocked wine fridge and more. Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 12 and younger and include food, non-alcoholic beverages and a bucket raffle ticket for adults. For more information call the shelter at 674-7694. Bottoms Up Bash! @ Historic Sheridan Inn

A colon cancer awareness event will be held March 29 at the Historic Sheridan Inn. “Bottoms Up Bash!” will commence at 7 p.m. and will feature country rock band Narrow Gauge from 8 p.m. to midnight. Attendees must be 21 or older and are invited to “wear blue and dance until they’re blue.” Admission is $10 and will include hors d’oeuvres and give-aways. A cash bar will be available. The Inn is located at 856 Broadway St.

Program participants will learn 15 simple exercises that can be done daily for back support.

The class is free to all members of the community. Class space is limited to 15 participants and interested individuals must sign up by calling the YMCA.

The program will run from March 24 through April 9 on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Casting for Recovery application deadline
May 16 all-day

Casting for Recovery, a two and a half day free retreat awarded to 14 women of Wyoming who are breast cancer survivors, will be held July 25-27. The fourth annual event includes fly-fishing instruction, breast cancer information and other tools for healing and socializing, including a psycho-social therapist, a health care professional and river helpers. The services are provided at no cost to the participants thanks to donations from individuals and businesses as well as grants from the Wyoming Community Foundation, Wyoming Affiliate of Susan G. Komen and the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. The organization is currently seeking residents to apply for the 2014 retreat, which will be held in Dubois at the Absaroka Ranch. Space is limited to 14 participants who will be chosen at random.

SHERIDAN — The Wyoming Office of Tourism will host the next event in a series of events called “Wyoming Wednesdays.” Informative and interpretive programs about Sheridan are being offered at 10 a.m. most Wednesdays throughout July at the Wyoming Welcome Center. At this week’s event representatives from the Wyoming Fish Hatchery in Story will give us an overview of what happens at the hatchery. The events are free and open to everyone. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic lunches and stay and enjoy the Visitor’s Center before or after each program. The center is located off of Interstate 90 on the Fifth Street exit.
