Best of the West BBQ Fest Fat Tuesday fundraiser @ Black Tooth Brewery

The Best of the West BBQ Fest committee will host a Fat Tuesday celebration to kick-off their fundraising season. On Tuesday at 6 p.m. complimentary appetizers and music by the Teka Brock Band will be provided at the Black Tooth Brewery. “Sundae cups” of coleslaw, baked beans and BBQ pork will be sold with all proceeds supporting the Best of the West BBQ Fest competition. 2014 Wild West Wine Fest @ Warehouse 201

The 2014 Wild West Wine Fest is coming March 7 to Warehouse 201. This annual primary fundraiser for the Downtown Sheridan Association will serve heavy hors d’oeuvres throughout the evening and present over 100 wines, beers and spirits to taste. Tickets are available now for $50 per person, which includes food, alcohol tastings, a complimentary tasting glass, a tasting booklet and a bidding number for the auction. “March Gladness” Spring Salad Luncheon @ First United Methodist Church

The United Methodist Women will host the annual Spring Salad Luncheon on Thursday. Empty Bowl Event @ Sheridan County YMCA

The Volunteers of America Northern Rockies will host their annual Empty Bowl Event Thursday. The fundraising event serves attendees a simple dinner emulating what one might eat at a soup kitchen served in a handcrafted bowl and accompanied by music from Canary Joe, a silent auction, face painting for kids and more. Attendees keep their dinner bowls as reminders about homelessness. The event will run from 5-8 p.m. at the Sheridan County YMCA. Tickets are available at the door for $25 per family, $10 for adults, $5 for kids and children under five are free. All proceeds benefit the Sheridan Community Homeless Shelter. Murder Twice Baked @ Carriage House Theater

The Fort Mackenzie High School drama department will present “Murder Twice Baked” on Thursday and Friday. A Stroke Awareness fundraiser on behalf of Troy Winder of the Sunset Cafe will be held at Tongue River Middle School on Friday. Live from The Met: Massenet’s ‘Werther’ @ WYO Theater

The WYO Theater will present “Live from The Met: Massenet’s ‘Werther’” on Saturday at 11 a.m. The performance is part of the series “The Metropolitan Opera: Live in High-Definition” which transmits opera performances to movie theaters and other venues around the world as part of The Metropolitan Opera’s efforts to reinvigorate opera and reach out to a broader public. The program allows audiences to experience the production at the same time as the audience in New York. “Werther” stars two of opera’s biggest artists, Jonas Kaufmann and Elina Garanca, appearing for the first time together at the Met. It is directed and designed by the team behind “Carmen,” Richard Eyre and Rob Howell. Tickets are $18 for adults and $9 for students. Children’s games will be played with a kid’s only bucket raffle for prizes.
