ParkFit 2014 @ Sheltered Acres Park

SHERIDAN — EMIT Technologies, the Recreation District and the Wellness Council have partnered to present ParkFit 2014. Every Wednesday throughout the summer from 12:10-12:50 p.m. a free fitness class will be offered at one of the local parks. The next session will be “Fun and functional circuits” by PurEnergy Wednesday at Sheltered Acres. A full schedule of ParkFit events can be seen at www.wellnesscouncilsc.org. All members of the community are invited to these free events.

ASIST @ Wyoming Simulation Center

SHERIDAN— Registration is now open for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) class to be held on Thursday and Friday, July 17 and 18, from 8:15 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Wyoming Simulation Center, 245 Broadway St. The two-day ASIST class is designed to supplement a caregiver’s abilities to assist an at risk person. This class is free, however, space is limited so please contact Sydney Rowe at 620-9995 or email srowe@pmowyo.org.

Flavor of the week @ Jouney's center of wellbeing

SHERIDAN — In celebration of their fourth anniversary, the Kula Space will host “Flavor of the Week,” a weekly free class on Thursdays this summer at 5:30 p.m. Some of the free classes will request optional donations to support a local cause and suggestions of local causes to support are welcome. TIPS Training @ Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Police Department, the Prevention Management Organization of Wyoming and the Wyoming Department of Health will present a free TIPS Training on July 22. From 8-10:30 a.m. and 5-7:30 p.m. beverage service training for concessions will be offered at the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce. “Training for Intervention Procedures” is an internationally recognized alcohol awareness education program that includes subjects such as retail programs, college students and adult consumers.
