Fiber Arts Guild reception @ Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library

SHERIDAN— The Sheridan Fiber Arts Guild will hold their annual show at Sheridan Fulmer Library Oct. 3 through Oct. 30 on the mezzanine.

The show features a variety of fiber arts mediums including quilting, felting, embroidery, cross stitch and knitting from local fiber artists.

A public artist reception will be held tomorrow from 5-7 p.m. Also in October, in the Inner Circle, entries from the 2014 Wyoming Junior Duck Stamp art contest will be on display. For more information call Christina Schmidt at 674-8585 ext 29.

Wyoming Archaeological Society meeting @ Holiday Inn

SHERIDAN— The Sheridan-Johnson County chapter of the Wyoming Archaeological Society will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Sheridan Holiday Inn, in the Le Gourmet room. Dinner will be ordered from the menu, however it is not necessary to order dinner to attend the free program. Following dinner, Wyoming State Archaeologist Greg Pierce will address the society regarding his new position as state archaeologist, and will discuss some of his latest fieldwork. Pierce succeeds Dr. Mark Miller as Wyoming State Archaeologist. Miller retired this spring after 30 years as state archaeologist. Reservations are not necessary to attend the free program. Free Caregiver Conference @ Holiday Inn

SHERIDAN—There will be a free Caregiver Conference at the Holiday Inn Oct. 3 and 4. All caregivers all welcome and the conference will feature general information and focused sessions on Alzheimer’s Disease. Events will kick off Friday with an appreciation dinner and will wrap-up Saturday around 5 p.m. The Holiday Inn is located at 1809 Sugarland Dr.

Kids’ Halloween Costume classes @ Sagebrush Community Art Center

SHERIDAN—The Sagebrush Community Art Center is having kids’ Halloween costume classes Saturday, Oct. 4 and Saturday, Oct. 11.

On Oct. 4, the kids will be making masks and on Oct. 11 they will be designing their own costumes. There is a $6 registration for each class.

Artist reception at Ucross @ Ucross Art Foundation Gallery

UCROSS—The artwork of Sheridan College art instructor Tawni Shuler will be on display this fall at the Ucross Foundation Art Gallery.

The opening reception will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 3-5 p.m. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

KLIFE youth rally featuring Bethany Hamilton @ Sheridan Junior High

SHERIDAN—KLIFE is holding a youth rally on Monday from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Sheridan Junior High featuring Bethany Hamilton. Bethany Hamilton is a pro-surfer who’s life story was featured in the movie ‘Soul Surfer’ and she is currently appearing on ‘The Amazing Race’ and ‘Dolphin Tale 2’. ‘Jentel Presents’ @ Sagebrush Community Art Center

SHERIDAN—Jentel Artist Residency Program is pleased to present this month’s residents in an event open to the public. “Jentel Presents” will take place Tuesday, October 7, from 5:30 -7 p.m. at Sagebrush Community Art Center, on the corner of 5th and Broadway.

This month’s presenters include a photographer, a creative non-fiction writer, a mixed media/collage artist, a sculptor, an encaustic artist and an essayist. “Jentel Presents” is a community outreach program that features visual presentations and readings by the visual artists and writers at the residency. Presenters include: Shigeki Yoshida, a photographer; Charlotte Austin, a creative nonfiction writer; Naomi Reis, a mixed media/collage artist; Emily Dunlap, a sculptor; Jane Guthridge, an encaustic artist; and Renee Restivo, an essayist.

Ackita Win meeting @ Designing Dinners
