The Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library will host two events on Thursday as part of the Smithsonian Institution’s “Key Ingredients” exhibit on display now through Jan. 14 at the library.
From 11 a.m. to noon there will be an edible book contest along with music by the Sheridan High School show choir “Spectrum.”
Members of the community are invited to submit any entry that is in some way related to books and is eligible.
Winners will be chosen according to audience reaction, so bring supports.
First and second place prizes will be awarded and Spectrum will perform prior to judging of the entries.
From 7-8:30 p.m. there will be a panel discussion title “Food-ways of Sheridan.”
The discussion will be moderated by David Romtvedt and will feature local experts on food in Sheridan.
Everyone is welcome to this free event.
Both events will be held in the Inner Circle in the library, which is located at 335 W. Alger St.

The Story Woman’s Club will host a Christmas Bazaar on Dec. 14. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. handcrafted items, jewelry, fresh coffee, honey and baked goods will be available. The club is located at 28 N. Piney Rd., Story. For more information contact Lauri Kraft at 683-2763.
The United Methodist Church Cookie and Candy Sale will be on Dec. 14.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. over 1,000 homemade cookies and candies will be available including gluten-free and sugar-free varieties.
Shoppers can mix and match for $6 per pound.
