One Book Wyoming celebration @ the Inner Circle, Sheridan Fulmer Library
Aug 27 @ 6:30 pm

The Sheridan County Public Library System will celebrate the One Book Wyoming program with the distribution of free books by Wyoming author Cat Urbigkit and a visit by Urbigkit on Thursday. In its second year, One Book Wyoming is a Wyoming State Library program that encourages residents throughout the state to come together to read and discuss the same book. Urbigkit was chosen as this year’s One Book Wyoming author. Urbigkit is an author and photographer of nonfiction books for children and adults. She lives on a working sheep ranch in western Wyoming with her family and her livestock guardian animals, including guardian dogs and burros. Urbigkit shares the beauty of life in Wyoming through her seven nonfiction books for young readers and three books for adults. Urbigkit’s books for children have received honors from the International Reading Association, Junior Library Guild, National Science Teachers Association, Society of School Librarians International and numerous state reading associations. Urbigkit will give a presentation at Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Inner Circle. The program will include an overview of life on the ranch and how the beauty she sees each day is an inspiration for her books. The program will be followed by a question and answer session. The author will be available for book signings and purchases. All members of the community are invited to attend this free event. For more information, call the library at 674-8585. The Fulmer Library is located at 335 W. Alger St.
