All Sheridan elementary schools choir concert @ Early Auditorium at Sheridan Junior High School

SHERIDAN — All the elementary schools in Sheridan County School District 2 will combine for a night of singing and fun on April 30.

The concert featuring choirs from each elementary school will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Early Auditorium at Sheridan Junior High School.

Sheridan Junior High School is located at 500 Lewis St.

‘Laughter – Always the Best Medicine?’ night of one-act plays @ Carriage House Theater

SHERIDAN — The Civic Theater Guild will present its final production of the 2014-2015 season next week.

“Laughter — Always the Best Medicine?” is a collection of seven hilarious one-act plays featuring 22 local men and women cast by director Pat Tomsovic. Many are veteran actors, but eight brand new thespians have tossed their hat into the acting ring.

The evening of one-acts will begin at 7:30 p.m. April 30 and May-1-2. A Sunday matinee will be offered at 2 p.m. May 3.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors, military and students. They can be purchased at the WYO Theater box office, located at 42 N. Main St., online at wyotheater.com or at the Carriage House Theater one hour prior to showtime.

Story Historical Society program on Leitner family @ Story Woman's Club

SHERIDAN — The Story Historical Society will host a program May 3 featuring a presentation by Steve Smith on the Leitner family, which came to Wyoming Territory in 1883 and settled near Kearney.

The program is free and open to the public. Coffee and cookies will be served.

The presentation will be held at 1:30 p.m. May 3 at the Story Woman’s Club, located at 28 N. Piney Road in Story.
