“Pints for Prostate” Tuesday at Brewery @ Blacktooth Brewing

SHERIDAN— The Ken Mellinger Memorial Foundation is hosting a “Pints for Prostate” event at Blacktooth Brewery on Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 raffle and live music by the Alphorns, Josh and Amber Hanson, Mick Johnson and Mitch Craft. Shopapalooza to benefit Advocacy and Resource center @ Best Western Sheridan Center

SHERIDAN—The Advocacy and resource center is holding a benefit Shopapalooza Thursday, Oct. 2. From 5:30-8 p.m. there will be an opportunity to bid on new and used handbags, jewelry, scarves and accessories. Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available. The event is located at the Best Western Sheridan Center and tickets are $15. You can pick up tickets at the Advocacy and Resource Center or at the door.

Wyoming Archaeological Society meeting @ Holiday Inn

SHERIDAN— The Sheridan-Johnson County chapter of the Wyoming Archaeological Society will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Sheridan Holiday Inn, in the Le Gourmet room. Dinner will be ordered from the menu, however it is not necessary to order dinner to attend the free program. Following dinner, Wyoming State Archaeologist Greg Pierce will address the society regarding his new position as state archaeologist, and will discuss some of his latest fieldwork. Pierce succeeds Dr. Mark Miller as Wyoming State Archaeologist. Miller retired this spring after 30 years as state archaeologist. Reservations are not necessary to attend the free program. Free Caregiver Conference @ Holiday Inn

SHERIDAN—There will be a free Caregiver Conference at the Holiday Inn Oct. 3 and 4. All caregivers all welcome and the conference will feature general information and focused sessions on Alzheimer’s Disease. Events will kick off Friday with an appreciation dinner and will wrap-up Saturday around 5 p.m. The Holiday Inn is located at 1809 Sugarland Dr.

“Downton and Denim” banquet @ Whitney Academic Center

SHERIDAN—As a fundraiser for the Sheridan College Fine and Performing Arts department, the college will host the “Downton & Denim Banquet,” on Friday, Oct. 3.

The event will take place in the Whitney Academic Center Atrium. Cocktails and appetizers will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m. The Edwardian era, the early 1900s in the United Kingdom under the rule of King Edward VII, will be the theme of the evening.

The hit TV show, “Downton Abbey,” takes place in the post-Edwardian era. Dr. Walter Nolte, president of Casper College and a renowned Edwardian historian, will be the special guest of the evening.

Guests are asked to dress in “Downton Abbey” formal attire, cowboy formal or business attire. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the Whitney Front Desk or by calling (307) 674-6446.

First Friday Comedy Night @ Holiday Inn

SHERIDAN— The Holiday Inn is hosting first Friday comedy night this Friday with comedian Ron Ferguson. Fifty percent of the proceeds go to the Kelly Schreibeis Memorial Fund to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. ‘The Links’ partner in Pink @ Whitney Commons

SHERIDAN— The Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation is holding its sixth annual breast cancer awareness event, “The Link”, Saturday, Oct. 11. There will be a 10k run, a 5k walk/run, and a 1.5 mile walk. $35 registration includes t-shirt, chip timing, and snacks. The event will begin at Whitney Commons, 326 Alger St. Registrations accepted at www.sheridanhospital.org or dropped off at the front desk. Bike-tober Fest @ Sheridan County Fairgrounds

SHERIDAN— Bike-tober Fest is on Saturday, Oct. 11 and features mountain bike races and trail runs. Race registration includes chip timing, t-shirt, food and beer tickets, and admission to the after party with live music, kids’ races, and a raffle. All proceeds benefit the Sheridan Community Land Trust’s local recreation projects. To register, go to biketoberfest.itsyourrace.com or at the Sports Stop or Foot of the Bighorns.
