Antelope Butte Ski and Recreation Area open house @ Antelope Butte Recreation Area
Oct 11 @ 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

The Antelope Butte Foundation will host an open house at the ski and recreation area in the Bighorn Mountains on Sunday.

The event, which will run from noon to 4 p.m., will feature complimentary beer, refreshments, burgers and brats.

ABF recently made a payment toward the purchase of the Antelope Butte Ski and Recreation Area. The milestone allows the foundation access to the facilities and to begin repairs and preventative maintenance.

According to ABF representatives, the group has already started cleaning the lodge and will be sealing leaks before the snow falls.

ABF must make an additional $220,000 in payments next year to secure the deed and begin full restoration of the property.

Zowada Plumbing and Heating and Dan Black have committed to provide labor and materials for all plumbing work at the lodge. ABF is currently working with additional volunteers and contractors to secure in-kind gifts of labor and materials to help renovate the lodge.

For additional information about the ABF or Sunday’s open house, see or call 763-0203.

The Antelope Butte Ski and Recreation Area is located off U.S. 14 in the Bighorn Mountains approximately 59 miles west of Sheridan.
