Wyoming Wednesdays @ Visitor's Center

SHERIDAN — The Wyoming Office of Tourism will host the next event in a series of events called “Wyoming Wednesdays.” Informative and interpretive programs about Sheridan are being offered at 10 a.m. most Wednesdays throughout July at the Wyoming Welcome Center. At this week’s event representatives from the Wyoming Fish Hatchery in Story will give us an overview of what happens at the hatchery. The events are free and open to everyone. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic lunches and stay and enjoy the Visitor’s Center before or after each program. The center is located off of Interstate 90 on the Fifth Street exit. ASIST @ Wyoming Simulation Center

SHERIDAN— Registration is now open for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) class to be held on Thursday and Friday, July 17 and 18, from 8:15 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Wyoming Simulation Center, 245 Broadway St. The two-day ASIST class is designed to supplement a caregiver’s abilities to assist an at risk person. This class is free, however, space is limited so please contact Sydney Rowe at 620-9995 or email srowe@pmowyo.org.

SHERIDAN¬— The Sheridan College will hold their next Youth Garden activity Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon. Children and their families are invited to check on the garden and learn how to care for the plants that are growing. Participants should wear sunblock, bring garden gloves, and plan on getting a little dirty. Space is limited so please RSVP to Ami Erickson at 674-6446 extension 3104.

Farmer’s Market

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Farmers Market will be moved farther up Grinnell Street this Thursday, in front of The Sheridan Press, to celebrate the Third Thursday Street Festival. From 5-7 p.m. vendors will sell produce, arts and crafts and more as live music, children’s activities, demonstrations and nonprofit booths are hosted. Attendance is free for customers and vendor booths are available to rent. Kids’ art camp @ Sagebrush Community Art Center

SHERIDAN­— The Sagebrush Community Art Center is hosting a kids summer art camp for ages 8-12 from July 21-24 from 1-5 p.m. each day. There will be an acrylic painting class, jewelry making, ceramic painting, watercolor painting, and a picture frame making class. Registration is due by July 16, and each class costs $35. TIPS Training @ Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Police Department, the Prevention Management Organization of Wyoming and the Wyoming Department of Health will present a free TIPS Training on July 22. From 8-10:30 a.m. and 5-7:30 p.m. beverage service training for concessions will be offered at the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce. “Training for Intervention Procedures” is an internationally recognized alcohol awareness education program that includes subjects such as retail programs, college students and adult consumers.
