COPE classes beginning Tuesday @ Holiday Inn

SHERIDAN—Judy Olson, director of COPE, “Counseling in Overcoming Painful Emotions”, will be starting a nine week program sponsored by Kane Funeral Home. COPE is an aftercare program designed to help deal with overcoming the loss of a loved one and gain support from others in the community experiencing the same type of grief. Classes will begin at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Holiday Inn, 1809 Sugarland Dr. For more information or reservations contact Judy Olson at 672-3336.

Blacktooth Brewing non-profit Tuesday @ Blacktooth Brewing

SHERIDAN— Blacktooth Brewing will host a non-profit event on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. For every pint sold, one dollar is donated to the Wild West Wreckers. The Wild West Wreckers are Sheridan’s first women’s roller derby team. There will be raffle prizes throughout the night, door prizes, and food vendors. FAB Conference Friday and Saturday @ Sheridan College

SHERIDAN— The FAB (for, about, by) women’s conference is Friday and Saturday. Friday is the Woman of the Year banquet with last year’s winner, Erin Kilbride as the keynote speaker. Saturday is the conference, with keynote speaker Stephanie Armstrong. The banquet is $50 per ticket, the conference is $50, and for both nights, tickets are $75. DEA drug “take back” day @ Across the state

WYOMING—A drug “DEA Take Back” day is scheduled across the nation for Saturday, and the Wyoming Department of Health is reminding Wyoming residents that medications can sometimes be donated to help others. The department’s Medication Donation Program accepts most unused, in-date, sealed medications, but cannot accept or dispose of controlled substances, such as medications for pain, sleep, anxiety or ADHD. Donated medications can be re-dispensed to low-income residents who don’t have the prescription coverage they may need. Shopapalooza to benefit Advocacy and Resource center @ Best Western Sheridan Center

SHERIDAN—The Advocacy and resource center is holding a benefit Shopapalooza Thursday, Oct. 2. From 5:30-8 p.m. there will be an opportunity to bid on new and used handbags, jewelry, scarves and accessories. Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available. The event is located at the Best Western Sheridan Center and tickets are $15. You can pick up tickets at the Advocacy and Resource Center or at the door.

Free Caregiver Conference @ Holiday Inn

SHERIDAN—There will be a free Caregiver Conference at the Holiday Inn Oct. 3 and 4. All caregivers all welcome and the conference will feature general information and focused sessions on Alzheimer’s Disease.
