SHERIDAN— The Never Flinch annual Summer Slam will be on Saturday, August 2 at 8 a.m. at the Sheridan YMCA. The annual Summer Slam is a 3-on-3, co-ed grass volleyball tournament that will help raise funds for the Weston Johnson Memorial Scholarship. SHERIDAN — For the next event in a series of outings celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act of 1964 and the 30th anniversary of the Wyoming Wilderness Act of 1984, the Wyoming Wilderness Association will host a Grizzly Bear ecology tour in the Shoshone National Forest. On Saturday, Chuck Neal, a retired U.S. Department of the Interior ecologist, will lead the group into grizzly bear country and teach the ecology and biology of the bears. Bring a picnic lunch and spend time discussing the anniversary of wilderness areas. The walk will be approximately 5 miles roundtrip, and is a steep uphill climb.
