SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Civic Theatre Guild will present “Outside Mullingar” at the Carriage House Theater.
The show was a 2014 Tony nominee for Best Play. In 2015, it became one of the most performed plays in American theater.
It was written by John Patrick Shanley, the author of “Doubt” and “Moonstruck.” The play captures the romantic comedic interplay between two neighboring Irish farm families. Anthony and Rosemary are two misfit introverts who share a common past and uncertain 21st-century future and don’t have a clue when it comes to love. They must overcome a bitter land feud, family rivalries and their own romantic fears to find happiness.
Organizers of the play, which is directed by Gene Davis, said it is rated G and is suitable for general audiences.
Performances are set for Jan. 22-24, Jan. 29-31 and Feb. 4-6. Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows are planned for 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees will begin at 2 p.m.
Tickets are available at the WYO Theater box office, online at wyotheater.com or one hour before the performance at the Carriage House Theater box office at 672-9886.
The Carriage House Theater is located at 419 Delphi Ave.
