Sheridan County Fair

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan County Fair officially kicked off Thursday, though participants have been working toward prizes for months.

Highlights of this year’s fair will include live music from Teka Brock Band tonight, as well as a tractor pull and pig wrestling Saturday.

THURSDAY

• 9 a.m. — Weigh-in/ultrasounds (beef, heifer futurity, sheep, swine, goat)

• 9 a.m. — Exhibit hall opens

• 9 a.m. — Entries for open class accepted

• 10 a.m. — 4-H silent auction begins

• 10 a.m. — Mini horse events

• 1 p.m. — Trail class

• 4 p.m. — Krystal Riley equine therapy demonstration

• 5:30 p.m. — Swine show

• 6 p.m. — Exhibit hall closes

• 7 p.m. — Match bronc riding

• 8:30 p.m. — Teka Brock Band

 

FRIDAY

• 8 a.m. — Horse showmanship and halter

• 9 a.m. — Exhibit hall opens

• 10 a.m. — CHAPS equine events

• 1 p.m. — Horse programmed ride

• 1 p.m. — Rabbit show

• 2 p.m. — Horse English events

• 5:30 p.m. — Market beef show

• 7 p.m. — Exhibit hall closes

• 7:30 p.m. — 4-H family and friends barn dance

 

SATURDAY

• 6 a.m. — Complimentary breakfast for 4-H and Future Farmers of America members and families by Farmers Coop

• 9 a.m. — Exhibit hall opens

• 9 a.m. — Heifer futurity show

• 9 a.m. — Tractor pull

• 9:30 a.m. — Market and dairy goat show

• 10:30 a.m. — Breeding beef show

• 1 p.m. — Alpaca show

• 2 p.m. — Cat show

• 4 p.m. — Sheep show

• 4 p.m. — Krystal Riley equine therapy demonstration

• 7 p.m. — Exhibit hall closes

• 7 p.m. — Pig wrestling

 

SUNDAY

• 8 a.m. — Dog show (rally, obedience, showmanship and confirmation)

• 9 a.m. — Exhibit hall opens

• 10 a.m. — Poultry show

• 11 a.m. — Krystal Riley equine therapy demonstration

• 1 p.m. — Dog agility

• 2 p.m. — Horse Western events

• 4 p.m. — Release of non-sale animals

• 6 p.m. — Horse speed events

• 7 p.m. — Exhibit hall closes

 

MONDAY

• 9 a.m. — Exhibit hall opens

• 10 a.m. – Round robin

• 1 p.m. — Fairgrounds clean up

• 1 p.m. — 4-H silent auction closes

• 1 p.m. — Release of static exhibits and state fair bound exhibit tagging and packing

• 4 p.m. — Buyer’s dinner

• 6 p.m. — Market livestock sale

• 7 p.m. — Exhibit hall closes

All events will be held at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds. The fair is free and open to the public.
