Jets blowout Laramie 21-3; Saturday State ‘B’ Tournament schedule

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Jets routed Laramie Friday night to earn a noon quarterfinal matchup with Jackson today in the Wyoming State ‘B’ Tournament in Sheridan.

After a disappointing 11-0 loss to begin positioning pool play Thursday against Casper at their host state tournament, the Jets jumped all over Laramie Friday night with a 21-3 blowout win.

Sheridan jumped out quickly with a Kris Clark 2-RBI triple in the first inning, using a 10-run third to defeat a Laramie team that had beaten Casper 14-4 earlier Friday.

Jets pitchers James Timberlake and Kendall Walters split three innings apiece, allowing one earned run in the contest. As a team, they finished with a massive 19 RBIs, capitalizing on 16 walks by Laramie pitchers.

Sheridan plays a single-elimination game against the low-seed, Jackson (0-2 this weekend), today at noon, hoping to get another shot at Casper in what would be a state semifinal matchup at 6 p.m.

All games are played at Thorne-Rider Stadium.
