The Sheridan Press story, “Councilor’s April DUI,” (July 19), raised the question of how fit the councilwoman is to represent her ward. Both Ms. Smith and Mayor Dave Kinskey have said she will stay focused and serve her constituents.
The night of her arrest for DUI, Ms. Smith was driving a car registered, not to her, but to Isakson Carter Appraisers. Her companion in the car was not Mr. Isakson or Mr. Carter, but Nic Bateson, Sheridan Public Works Director.
Councilwoman Smith closed her business Presto Print at 40 N. Gould St. in 2012. At that time, she said she had sold the business. Presto Print was encumbered with a federal tax lien, for failure to pay federal taxes totaling $12,594.96. Is Ms. Smith a PDR, Person of Dubious Reality? Others in that category are Batman and the Easter Bunny.
