Re: Tech Center bond issue
Sheridan County School District 2 would like to submit this enthusiastic letter of support for the upcoming Sheridan College Tech Center bond election. Our district and Sheridan College have a close relationship that is both collaborative and beneficial for our students and the community. Sheridan College has been an integral part of working with our students over the years in concurrent and dual enrollment classes.
Sheridan College has also worked over the years to spur economic growth in our community, and we view the Tech Center as a critical role in that endeavor. Many of our graduates attend Sheridan College, and the Tech Center will provide space to facilitate a career-focused education for our students in one of our targeted employment areas.
The vision by Sheridan College to increase the demand by industry is exemplary, and we fully endorse their efforts. The Tech Center will bring about the best technology and increase the number of students that can be enrolled at the Tech Center. Through the Tech Center, we will work closely with Sheridan College faculty to enroll our students in certification programs while still enrolled at Sheridan High School. Our students will then be able to go out to highly sought-after jobs regionally and also be able to continue their education in state-of-the-art facilities.
We strongly urge the Sheridan community to support the Sheridan College bond election to build a world class, state of the art Tech Center. The new facility will allow Sheridan to grow at this still-critical economic time for our community. Please contact us if you need further information regarding our strong support for this project.
