SHERIDAN — Sheridan Little League Baseball has two teams playing this week in Torrington at the Little League District 2 Tournament.
The Sheridan Majors beat the Gillette All-Stars 10-5 yesterday, coming back from a 3-0 deficit after the fourth inning. Sheridan has the No. 1 seed in their pool and plays Torrington at 4 p.m. today. If they win, they will play in the championship game Friday.
There are 13 local players ages 11-12 on the team. They won their first game 11-9 over Newcastle Monday.
The Sheridan Minors (ages 9-10) lost their first two games, 22-17 to Laramie and 6-5 to Gillette, but beat Torrington 10-4 Wednesday night. They have a bye in the consolation bracket and will play the winner of Newcastle-Torrington at 9 a.m. Friday.
The state tournament will be held July 24-17 in Laramie.
