Lenos celebrate 50th anniversary

SHERIDAN — Darrel and Kathy Leno of Sheridan will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday. They were married Feb. 23, 1963, at Eksjo Lutheran Church, west of Lake Park, Minn.
The couple lived and worked in the Fargo, N.D., area for 10 years prior to moving to Wyoming in 1973.
They moved to Sheridan in April of 1974 and Darrel Leno was the terminal manager for Salt Creek Freightways until 1981. He spent the next 26 years working for Spring Creek Coal before retiring from Rio Tinto Energy.
In 1975, Kathy Leno began work as a bookkeeper with the senior citizens meals program. She retired after 28 years in this position.
The Lenos have two sons, Michael (Rebecca) and James (Mika), both of Sheridan.
They have five grandchildren: Kalyn Rianne, Abigail Michelle, Teegan James, Tavy Jo and Tate James.
The couple recently took a Panama Canal cruise to celebrate their 50 years together.
A celebration is planned for Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Church service is at 8:30 a.m. with coffee fellowship served by Leno family members following at 9:45 a.m.
Later the family will celebrate with a brunch at Eaton’s Ranch.
Darrel Leno’s mother, Clara Leno, of Sheridan, will join the family for the celebrations.
