SHERIDAN — The first Sheridan College 2013 Mountain Lecture Series will be Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the Spear-O-Wigwam Mountain Campus.
SC Professor Emeritus and local wildflower expert Dr. Dick Birkholz will discuss his observations and the characteristics of flowers in this region.
The lecture series offers the public an opportunity to visit Spear-O-Wigwam and learn more about the area without registering for a class.
“It is a wonderful opportunity for community members to come visit the campus for an afternoon, take a tour, bring a picnic lunch and eat it at our outdoor tables,” SC Learn Outdoors Program Coordinator Julie Davidson said in a press release.
Additional lectures in this series will include “Bear Attacks, Caddy Shacks, Dude Girls: Gold Mines of Bad Decisions in the Bighorns” by Sam Morton and “Invasive Weeds of Wyoming Rangelands: From Theory to Case Study” by Dr. Julie Rieder.
These family-friendly lectures are free to the public.
