Nominations being accepted for seniors Valentine’s Day gift
Date posted: January 29, 2013
SHERIDAN – Senior living community Emeritus at Sugarland Ridge is encouraging Sheridan residents to nominate an area senior who might be alone this Valentine’s Day to receive a free dinner at home with presents and friends.
One local senior will be chosen among those nominated by the public to receive the prize.
“At the time of the year that we celebrate love, it’s important to extend caring and friendship to the senior generation,” Executive Director Theresa Hamilton said in a media release. “We know that many will spend Valentine’s Day on their own. For those who have lost spouses, it can be a sad occasion that contributes to feelings of loneliness. Family and friends may live far away and perhaps physical challenges limit their ability to get out into the greater community. We hope to brighten the day for one of these seniors through festivities and friendship.”
To nominate a senior, send the name and contact information of both the nominator and the nominee along with a brief explanation of why that person should be selected to email@example.com. Nominations can also be mailed to Emeritus at Sugarland Drive, Attn: Meredith Sopko, 1551 Sugarland Drive, Sheridan, WY 82801.
Submissions are due by Feb. 7.
Emeritus at Sugarland Drive provides independent senior living, assisted living, respite or temporary care services and a complimentary home visit program. It is operated by Emeritus Senior Living – a nationwide organization that serves nearly 50,000 residents across the country.
