SHERIDAN — A powerful thunderstorm making its way through the Sheridan area is causing flash flooding on local streets.
The National Weather Service in Billings has issued a flash flood warning for central Sheridan County until 8:15 p.m. tonight.
According to the NWS, sensors in the area indicate more than an inch of rainfall has occurred in Sheridan in just more than 15 minutes. The flash flood warning includes the city of Sheridan as well as areas around smaller creeks and streams. Water is also collecting along Interstate 90.
A severe thunderstorm warning is also until 5:45 p.m. and a severe thunderstorm watch is also in effect until 9 p.m.
