Faye M. Means June 15, 1927 – March 5, 2013

Means 030913Faye M. Means, 83, of Sheridan, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Sheridan Manor.

Faye was born June 15, 1927, in Spokane, WA, to Bertha (Benner) Weaver and Roy Burdette Weaver. After her parents divorced in 1935, she and her mother settled in Montana while her brother remained with their father. Faye married Ward Means on October 12, 1943 in Miles City, MT. For many years, the couple lived in Broadus, MT where they owned the Quarter Horse Motor Inn Motel and raised their two daughters, Darlene and Anita Jo. When they moved to Sheridan in 1971 they owned a horse ranch and Faye worked as a printer’s helper at the Print Shop.

 

Faye was diagnosed with MS in the late 1980′s and faced her illness with courage, a positive outlook, and a fierce determination to maintain her independence. She enjoyed horses, playing cards, bowling, traveling, dancing and church. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and followed their wrestling, rodeoing, and other activities faithfully.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, brother, husband, and her two daughters. She is survived by her grandsons Cody Cunningham (Marcy) and Casey Cunningham (Jessie) both of Sheridan, WY and her great-grandchildren; Cashlee Cunningham, Cricket Cunningham, DeLani Cunningham, and Bailey Cunningham.

Funeral Services for Faye will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Foreman officiating. A viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service. A reception for family and friends to follow in the Kane Reception Hall. Burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. that afternoon in the Valley View Cemetery in Broadus, MT.
