Date posted: March 12, 2013
SHERIDAN — Join paleontologist Bill Matteson on March 20 at 6:30 p.m. to hear the story of the dinosaur named Caesar.
Caesar is an allosaurus skeleton that has been more than 40 percent retrieved from the vicinity of Poison Creek Quarry near Buffalo by geologist Michael Flynn, his son Brian and other volunteers.
In 1999 Matteson began reconstructing Caesar’s skull. Michael Holland of Bozeman, Mont., is currently reconstructing the entire skeleton, which will be displayed in the new Sheridan College Edward A. Whitney Academic Center this coming summer.
This Sheridan College Museum of Discovery Science Lecture Series presentation will be at the Sheridan College CTEL presentation hall.
