Scott Geary, son of Tim and Rita Geary of Sheridan, was voted to the 10-man team in mid-May, meeting the requirements of posting at least a 3.2 grade point average as a starter or key player in his or her sport.
According to an article from the Patriot League’s official website, Geary holds a 3.218 grade point average as a major in systems engineering.
He helped Army to a second place team finish at the Patriot League Championships and qualified for the IC4A Championships in the discus, hammer throw and the shot put.
The IC4As are an annual men’s track and field competition held between Division 1 colleges in the New England and Mid-Atlantic States.
Additionally, he qualified for the NCAA First Round in discus and hammer throw as just one of two Army student-athletes to qualify in more than one event.
According to the Army athletic website, Geary has chosen to participate in graduation ceremonies this weekend instead of the NCAA First Round.
After graduation, Geary will report to Fort Hood.
