Man denies shooting father in Lockwood gunfight

BILLINGS (AP) — A 23-year-old man charged with shooting his father in the back during a gunfight in Lockwood has pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault with a weapon.

Brandon Jay Joseph White appeared before District Judge Mary Jane Knisley on Friday by video from the Yellowstone County jail. He also denied an alternative count of assault with a weapon by accountability and one count of tampering with evidence.

Knisley maintained White’s bail at $150,000.

Prosecutors allege that on Jan. 29, White and another man waited for Walter White outside hits Lockwood auto body shop. Court records say video from security cameras show two men in a passenger car open fire on Walter White’s sport utility vehicle. The driver of the SUV returned fire.
