Jets swept by Billings Angels

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Jets dropped two games to the Billings Angels Saturday on the road.

Sheridan (1-5) dropped the first game 7-1, falling 11-4 in the second.

“We were our own worst enemies this weekend,” head coach Ryan Murner said. “In both games we walked a combined 25 hitters. You won’t be successful giving so many free opportunities to quality baseball teams.”

Sheridan threw six different pitchers Saturday. Caleb Hoopes lasted four and one third innings in the first game, allowing one run and striking out seven for the Jets best performance of the day on the mound.

Zack Soule had two RBIs and Kris Clark had one Saturday as the Jets managed 11 hits in the two games.

“A big inning in each game was the difference on Saturday,” Murner said. “If we can keep ourselves out of big innings, we should be able to give our team an opportunity to be successful. I believe our pitching staff has potential.”

The Jets play Lovell at home Saturday and then host Billings Sunday.
