SHERIDAN – The Sheridan Fire-Rescue Department responded to a structure fire at 65 Coffeen Ave. at 9:36 p.m. Saturday night. The fire was flaring out of a west window of the probation and parole office, which sits between the UPS Store and Buggy Bath Car Wash. Smoke billowed out of the north and west side of the building as fire crews arrived.
Two Sheridan Fire engines and an ambulance made the initial response. Goose Valley Volunteer Fire Department arrived within minutes after suppression began. Approximately 20 fire and Emergency Medical Service personnel were on the scene.
According to Fire Captain Mike Miller, it took three minutes to get the fire contained.
“We were on another call when we got this one,” Miller said.
Miller did not know what may have caused the fire but said crews would enter the building as soon as it was safe to investigate and take photographs.
No injuries were reported on the scene.
