The class will cover an introduction to OSHA along with mandatory construction topics — falls, electrocutions, struck by hazards and caught in between hazards.
The course is designed to increase an individual’s ability to identify major hazards, be able to describe types of hazards and help employees recognize employer requirements to protect workers from these hazards. The remainder of the course will include three hours of elective topics. The class will be Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sheridan Fire-Rescue Station, 212 E. Works St.
All participants will receive an OSHA 10-hour construction course completion card from the Department of Labor.
