Helen Cook Kawulok

Helen Cook Kawulok, 69, of Ranchester, Wyoming, passed in her home on Friday, April 26, 2013 after a long fight with leukemia.  She was born to the late Walter and Elizabeth Cook, March 15, 1944, in Philadelphia. Helen graduated from Haddonfield High School in New Jersey. Then came to Wyoming and worked for Eaton’s Ranch where she met and married, Walter Raymond Kawulok on November 23, 1965, and they lived together in Ranchester, Wyoming during their entire marriage.  Helen worked at Sheridan Memorial Hospital for many years until retiring in 1991 to care for her mother. Helen was very passionate about baking, gardening, playing cards, taking care of her loving husband and being involved with her grandchildren’s lives. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Alfred Cook. Helen is survived by her husband: Walter Ray Kawulok; sister: Allison McWhorter, of Daytona Beach, FL; four children: Walter Ray (Kristyann) Kawulok Jr, of Ranchester, WY, Joyce K (Mark) Allen, of Upton, WY; Elizabeth K (Dean) Roberts, of Sheridan, WY; and Louisa Kawulok, of Boise, ID. She also is survived by eight grandchildren: Morgen Chase, Syrenda Hepp, Echo Hepp, Myria Burgess, Jason Allen, Kevin Allen, Whitney Bacon, and Sarah Bacon, plus five great-grandchildren. Helen was the rock in our family, our Sister, our Mother, our Grandma, our friend – the one we could all depend on – no matter what. It is very hard to imagine a world without her in it. A Celebration of Helen’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Kane Funeral Home with a reception immediately following in the Kane Reception Hall. Condolences may be mailed to: PO Box 155 Ranchester, WY 82839. Online condolences may be written at www.kanefuneral.com. Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
